South Australia’s  491 state nomination Skilled Migration program’s quota has almost been filled.

It’s no wonder, as South Australia has become one of the most in demand city for those hesitant to move to regional Australia for their visa.

Current allocations are not able to meet the demand. Given the high demand, South Australia’s state nomination program has requested additional places under the state nomination program from the Commonwealth Department of Home Affairs.

According to South Australia’s state nomination program, to ensure the most suitable applicants are being nominated they are taking the following measures:

  1. Prioritising assessment of visa subclass 190 applications
  2. Prioritising assessment of visa subclass 485 applicants who have visas expiring within the 2021-22 program year
  3. Prioritising onshore applicants with proven work experience and are working full-time hours in their nominated occupation for a South Australian employer
  4. Applicants who want to apply for subclass 491 nomination should submit Registration of Interest (ROI) applications through South Australia’s ‘Talent & Innovators Program’ for consideration
