The wait is finally over! 485 visa holders can finally come back to Australia. Not only that, there are some additional changes made to the 485 graduate visa program.

Here’s our quick summary of all the 485 changes you need to know!

Here is what the 3 changes mean for Students and 485 Visa Holders:

1. Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa holders who have been unable to travel to Australia, will be able to apply for a replacement visa.

This means current and former Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa holders whose visas have expired on or after 1 February 2020, can re-apply for a new subclass 485 visa of the same duration as their original visa.

2. The Government will increase the stay period on the Temporary Graduate visa from 2 to 3 years for Masters by coursework graduates.

Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector graduates will also receive a 2 year Temporary Graduate visa.

3. The new visa settings also aim to extend existing measures for students and temporary graduates to recognise time spent offshore studying online to count towards qualifying for their temporary graduate visa.
